1. Scope
These Terms of Sale ("Terms") govern all orders placed on onceandleather.com (the "Site"), operated by Once & Leather, Rte des Mornets 31c, 2520 La Neuveville, Switzerland (the "Seller").
By placing an order, the customer (the "Customer") confirms having read and accepted these Terms.
2. Products
Once & Leather designs and handcrafts full-grain leather goods, produced in small runs or made to order. Because each piece is made by hand from a natural material, slight variations in shade, grain, and finish are inherent to the product. They are not defects, but the signature of a handmade object.
Product photographs are as faithful as possible; minor colour differences may remain depending on the screen used.
3. Prices
Prices are shown in Swiss francs (CHF), including taxes where applicable. Shipping costs are shown separately before order confirmation. The applicable price is the one displayed at the time of the order.
4. Ordering
Orders are placed online through the Site's cart and become final once payment is confirmed. The Seller confirms receipt by email; the sales contract is concluded upon receipt of this confirmation.
The Seller may refuse an order for legitimate reasons (obviously erroneous price, unavailability of material, suspected fraud); any amount already paid is then refunded in full.
5. Payment
Accepted payment methods are those offered at checkout. Payment is due at the time of order. Items remain the property of the Seller until the price is paid in full.
6. Production and delivery
In-stock items are dispatched within 2–4 business days. Made-to-order items are dispatched within the timeframe stated on the product page or in the order confirmation.
Delivery times are indicative. Risk passes to the Customer upon handover of the parcel; any visible damage must be reported immediately to the carrier and the Seller. For deliveries outside Switzerland, customs duties and import taxes are borne by the Customer.
7. Returns and exchanges
Swiss law does not provide a statutory right of withdrawal for online purchases. The Seller nevertheless voluntarily grants the Customer the option of returning an item within 14 days of receipt, under the following conditions: item unused, unworn, not personalised, in its original condition; return announced in advance by email; return shipping borne by the Customer.
After inspection, the Seller refunds the price of the item (excluding original shipping costs), or offers an exchange or store credit, at the Customer's choice.
Exclusions: personalised items (embossed initials, custom dimensions) cannot be returned or exchanged, except in case of defect.
8. Warranty
Items are covered by the statutory warranty for defects under art. 197 et seq. of the Swiss Code of Obligations for two years from delivery. The warranty does not cover normal wear, the natural patina of leather, or damage from inappropriate use, lack of care, or prolonged exposure to water.
In the event of a covered defect, the Seller will, at its option, repair, replace, or refund the item.
9. Leather care
Full-grain leather is a living material: it develops a patina, darkens, and softens over time. These changes are normal and intended. Care recommendations are available on the Site.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Seller's liability is excluded for indirect and consequential damages and for slight negligence. Mandatory statutory provisions remain reserved.
11. Data protection
The Customer's personal data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), for order processing and, with consent, for communication purposes.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the CISG. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the Seller's registered seat, subject to mandatory statutory venues.
